Multisensor data fusion-based structural health monitoring for buried metallic pipelines under complicated stress states

During long-term service, buried pipelines are subjected to complex combined loads, including internal and external loads pipe–soil interactions. In this paper, a multisensor monitoring network is proposed for the structural health (SHM) performance assessment of metallic in complicated stress state. However, general, longitudinal bending axial thermal cannot be directly obtained by separately considering each information source (i.e. measured strain temperature differentials). Therefore, Bayesian fusion-based estimation method states physics-based data fusion calculating stresses presented. A field application with construction operation phases was carried out investigate efficiency scheme method. The results illustrated that successfully estimated calculated stress. distribution equivalent obtained, pipeline evaluated. Notably, showed significant caused overburden uneven pipe trenches foundation settlements during phase, which not considered classical calculation models current design codes. This practical project provides strong evidence motivation paper.
